Beach Training 2017, Saturday August 26th @ 9:30am

by Elizabeth on August 3, 2017

We are happy to invite all of our present and past students to our annual Beach Training at Jacob Riis Park in Queens, NY. We encourage everyone to attend, including family. Beach Training is an opportunity to get out of the dojo and test your skills with water resistance and sand in your toes. We will train in the sand and in the water. Traditional training and sparring will be followed by watermelon breaking and a potluck lunch. This is a free event, please bring a drink or favorite dish to share with your dojo family.

This will be a memorable time at the beach so make sure to take plenty of pictures!

**Full uniform and belt is required if you wish to participate and be in photos.

Getting to Riis Park by public transportation is simple:

If you are coming from Kensington, take the B11 bus to the Far Rockaway bound Q35 bus at Flatbush & Nostrand Avenue.  If you are coming from Midwood, you can take the B11, B9 or B6 to the Far Rockaway bound Q35 bus. The Q35 will drop you off right at Riis Park Beach. If you’re not in either of these neighborhoods, you can take the A train to Beach 116th Street and then take a Brooklyn bound Q35 to Riis Park. We will be positioned by the modest clock tower that is near the public bathrooms at Riis Park Beach. Feel free to email us if you need additional information.
