Modified Class Schedule for Easter Sunday, 4/16/2017

NYC Fit Club has decided to stay open on Easter Sunday. Since students have expressed their intention to attend class, we will have ONE class for all students (children & adults) from 1:15pm to 2:15pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

Kanreikai Karate Tournament May 13, 2017

We are invited to participate in kata and kumite competition at the Manhattan Kanreikai Karate tournament. It will take place at The Cathedral School, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue. Children and adults can register for weapons, kata, and semi-knockdown kumite. More information will be available as we get closer to the date. We highly encourage students to compete in kumite to test their training and see their progress. This is a great way to see if you’re ready to progress to the next belt.

Watch Sensei Dante Compete in Full-Knockdown Kumite

Our very own Sensei Dante will be competing at the Kanreikai Karate tournament. He will have two full-knock down matches. Full-knockdown means no headgear, gloves, or shin-pads. If you are not feeling ready to compete in any of the tournament divisions, come out to support those who are competing.

Congratulations to our little fighters

We had a great turnout at the Kid’s Dojo Tournament at Matsumoto Dojo in Manhattan. Our very own Shaindel took home a “best fighting spirit” award. We are very proud of all of the children who participated in both kumite and kata. It is not about winning but about doing your best. Train hard to prepare for the Kanreikai
Tournament so you can perform better than you did in the last tournament.

Saturday Classes Need Students!

Saturday classes are now at 11:30 for children and 12:30 for adults & teens. Turnout for these classes are low so you will get lots of extra attention. These classes are the perfect opportunity to work on basics like footwork, stances, and forms. Can’t make it to Saturday class? Perhaps you know someone who can! Please let them know about us. The first class is a $10 trial for new students. No commitments required.
Help spread the word! If you or your child enjoy training with us, please let the world know. Review us on Yelp. Every review counts and keeps us going. You can find our Yelp page here –Midwood Martial Arts on Yelp. Thank you!
